Therapy for Abuse & Trauma Recovery

For adults who want to improve their relationships with themselves and those closest to them

Have you grown tired of living in chronic stress and more isolation than you would like? Do you feel cut off from your emotions and sometimes struggle to identify what you’re feeling? Are your relationships lacking the support they need but you’re not sure why?

Maybe you’ve recently experienced a breakup or perhaps the stress in your life is starting to have an effect on your physical health. You may be struggling to keep up with everything you have to do, or simply overwhelmed with worries. Perhaps you’re feeling down and can’t get your confidence back.

Whatever it is that you’re experiencing, you’ve begun to notice the impact of this stress in every facet of your life: at work, in caring for yourself, and in your most important relationships, and you’re wondering what to do.

Abuse & Trauma therapy can help.

It may feel difficult now, but you can learn to have more control over your emotional life. You can feel more confident about who you are. You can more comfortably connect with others. And I can help you get there.

Therapy for depression & anxiety helps you do 4 things:

  1. Identify the root of the problems you’re experiencing

  2. End patterns of chronic stress or impulsive behaviors

  3. Gain control over painful emotional patterns

  4. Feel good enough to confidently and authentically connect with others so you can live a life with more meaningful relationships

I’ll help you through this process, tailoring each step to your unique needs and circumstances. My approach to individual therapy comes from a place of empowerment: believing in the potential and intelligence that is already within you. You already have the skills you need within yourself, but just need some help to get there.

Therapy that comes to you.

I provide online-only, confidential therapy to residents of California. Using a HIPAA-compliant video service, you can get the support you need … from anywhere.

 What to Expect

There are so many options in today's world and it can be confusing when you try to make sense of the different credentials the various types of mental health professionals use. You want someone who understands you, and you don't want it to take forever to find that person.

I've been told I am a warm, challenging, and intuitive therapist. You will notice this compassion from our first session as we review your situation and establish your therapy goals. As we move through the beginning stages and go deeper into the process of therapy, you will find an ease and comfort in becoming curious about your own life and challenging certain patterns that might contribute to keeping you stuck.

Near the end of therapy, we will review your growth areas and identify behaviors that support your positive change. Given the nature of my clinical specialization in treating attachment trauma, please know that creating flexibility and change in these areas is often a longer-term process but not a forever process. Your goals and the length of your therapy will always be fully directed by you.

You don’t have to live life feeling exhausted and in shallow relationships.

Let’s work together to create the life and relationships you deserve.

Q: What are individual therapy sessions like?

The first sessions will be used for us to get to know each other a little better, to familiarize you with my process of therapy, and to answer any new or lingering questions that may come up for you. We will establish therapy goals in our first few sessions. Following this, sessions will be a mixture of talking, reflecting, and challenging your current thinking, feeling, and relationship patterns. At the end of sessions, we will identify key takeaways, actionable steps, and any homework that might be relevant to your situation.

Q: How long do I need to be in therapy?

This is based on individual needs. I’ve had clients choose to work with me for as little as 2 months and for as long as several years. The duration of therapy will always be decided by you. I will give you clear and honest feedback about what to realistically expect based on your goals and personal history. As with any topic, we can discuss this at any stage in the therapy process.

Q: How do I know if therapy will work for me?

Whether you’ve done therapy before, or this is your first experience with it, you can be assured that my over 6 years of clinical experience, advanced trainings, and passion for this work will guide you in a process of growth. If we are meeting regularly and you are not finding the process helpful, that is something that we can both be comfortable discussing in an open and productive way. Lastly, please be aware that part of the effectiveness of therapy comes from the work being done outside of sessions in completing homework and other tasks.
